Forgot Your Password? Here's How to Reset It

Can't log in to Beat The Cut? Follow these steps to reset your password and get back into your pool in minutes.

1. Before You Start: Are You a Google Sign-In User?

  • If you originally signed up using "Continue with Google," you don't have a Beat The Cut password — and you don't need one.
  • To sign in, go to the login page and click "Continue with Google." Done.
  • The password reset flow only applies to accounts created with an email + password. If you're unsure which method you used, try Google sign-in first.

2. How to Request a Password Reset

  • On the login page, click "Forgot Password?" below the password field.
  • Enter the email address associated with your account and click "Send Reset Link."
  • You'll see a confirmation message on screen. An email is on its way.
  • Important: use the exact email address you signed up with. If you entered a different one, the reset won't work — but no error will appear (this is intentional, for security).

3. What the Reset Email Looks Like

  • Subject line: something like "Reset your Beat The Cut password" from no-reply@beatthecut.com.
  • Check your primary inbox first. If it's not there after a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
  • The email contains one link. Click it.
  • The link opens a secure page on beatthecut.com where you can create your new password.

4. How Long the Reset Link Is Valid

  • Reset links expire after 1 hour.
  • If you request a link and don't use it within the hour, you'll need to request a fresh one. Go back to "Forgot Password?" on the login page and submit again.
  • Do not click old reset links from previous emails. Only use the most recent one.

5. Creating Your New Password

  • Your new password must be at least 8 characters.
  • Use a mix of letters, numbers, and at least one special character for better security.
  • Avoid reusing a password from another website — especially one you use for email or financial accounts.
  • After submitting, you'll be logged in automatically and taken to your account.
  • You do not need to log out of other devices — but if you want to for security reasons, you can do that in account settings.

6. Troubleshooting: Reset Link Expired

  • If you click the link and see "This link has expired," don't panic.
  • Go back to beatthecut.com, click "Sign In," then "Forgot Password?" and request a new link.
  • Use the new link within an hour.
  • If you keep seeing expiry errors, make sure your device's date and time are set correctly — this is rare, but a clock mismatch can cause issues with link validation.

7. Troubleshooting: Reset Email Is Not Arriving

  • Wait up to 5 minutes — delivery can sometimes be delayed.
  • Check spam, junk, and promotions folders.
  • Search your inbox for "beatthecut" or "no-reply@beatthecut.com."
  • Make sure you're entering the exact email address tied to your account. No error message appears if the email doesn't match — this is a security feature, not a bug.
